Two months ago, 3,600 residents signed a petition asking the County Commissioners to intervene in the dreadful conditions at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
We delivered that petition—and our testimony—directly to the Board on September 7.
Since then: silence.
Not one Commissioner has responded or announced a single concrete action to hold Novant accountable.
This is unacceptable. The harm from poor hospital care is not theoretical—it’s measured in pain, suffering, disability, and death.

The citizens of New Hanover County were promised top-quality care when our public hospital was sold in 2021. We will not stop until that promise is kept.
