This is so important this Thursday! My recent update explained what you can do.

I just got off the phone with the a Republican Senator. We are in a critical phase. The democrats are pushing back hard on this bill, we need many people to support SB 647 as possible. Either by person, Zoom, or just a written testimory.

All you need to do is explain the hardship in your own words how the public benefits impacted your family.  You don't need to read or understand the the language of the bill. Just do this, please. Here is the bill.

AN ACT CONCERNING PROTECTIONS FOR CONSUMER ACCESS 
TO AFFORDABLE ELECTRICITY. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 

That the general statutes be amended to (1) remove charges 
collectively called the "Combined Public Benefits Charge" from electric 
bills for end use customers of each electric distribution company, (2) 
prohibit the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection or 
any electric distribution company from entering into a power purchase 
agreement that provides for the purchase of electricity at a rate 
exceeding one hundred fifty per cent above the wholesale price of 
electricity, (3) redefine "Class I renewable energy source" to include any 
electricity generated from a hydropower or nuclear power generating 
facility, (4) separate the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority from the 
Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, (5) eliminate any 
incentive program that increases electric demand, including, but not 
limited to, any electric vehicle rebate program, and (6) study methods 
by which the supply of natural gas may be increased in the state. 
Statement of Purpose:   
To reduce energy costs and increase energy supply.
