Happy Sunday! We have 72,412 signatures! Welcome new people! This is my 27th update. Please keep sharing so we can reach 100K and have one loud voice to overturn the public benefit charges that make Connecticut unaffordable to live. This continues to be a hot topic while legistation is in session.

In the News:

Marissa Gillett gets reappointed to PURA. Facebook reel shows questioning from Stephen Harding during the nomination. You can view the coverage by Fox61 news on Youtube.

Senator Stephan Harding continues to fight for us. You can review the short reel on facebook here.

Lamont and the majority leaders turn a deaf ear.

Republicans offer a six point plan as explained in my last update. You can read it here.

CT NBC News reports The Connecticut Department of Transportation has paused electric vehicle infrastructure expansion in the state because of a memo sent from federal officials.

Meanwhile.....Connecticut is still charging us for this through the Public Benefit Charges....

Attorney General William Tong Joins 22 States in Suing to Stop Trump Administration from Withholding Essential Federal Funding. You can read the press release here. Connecticut is now in definance of Federal mandates.

I was informed by a nameless Democratic senator that Connecticut power is expensive because we are the end of the line (meaning Canada's natural gas pipe line -true) and that we don't in fact, produce any power whatsoever (not true).  Millstone not withstanding, this website is very informative and the link is below.

FROM The EIA U.S. Energy Information Administration

Connecticut has the second highest energy bills in the country. Yet, we are one of the lowest in terms of usage.

Connecticut's 13 conventional hydroelectric facilities provide 119 megawatts of generating capacity. The state also has a pumped storage hydroelectric facility with 29 megawatts of capacity.

The Rocky River Generating Station in New Milford, Connecticut, was completed in 1929 and was the first pumped storage hydroelectric plant in the United States. The power station pumps water from the Housatonic River into the Candlewood Lake reservoir and later releases it to generate electricity during periods of peak demand.

The facility uses reversible pumps that also act as generators, an innovation at the time the facility was built Petroleum fuels 3 of Connecticut's 10 largest power plants by capacity.

Although about one-fifth of Connecticut's generating capacity is petroleum-fired, the use of petroleum has declined in the past decade with the increased use of natural gas and renewable energy resources to generate electricity. In 2023, petroleum contributed 0.3% of the state's net generation.

Make no mistake. The Connecticut's governor issued an executive order for 100% of the state's electricity supply to be generated by renewable resources by 2040. This means renewable energy only! This is quadruple the cost!

Further, the 1.3 Billion dollars spent on illegal Immigration in CT. The Yankee Institute talks about how to make Connecticut become more affortable. Its a short article and you can read it here or see the interview on WTNH Channel 8 Carol Platt Liebau of the Yankee Institute talks to Dennis House on This Week in Connecticut Here on youtube.

I only mention this because it appears Connecticut don't care about the ratepayers of UI and Eversourse at all. They appear to care more about people entering this country illegally than those who is already here.

I get that everyone needs to be taken care of. But there is a right way and a wrong way. Please email me if I am missing something here.

Next update, I am going to provide a link to a group of people that are trying to sue the State of Connecticut to remove the public benefit charge. More on that next week.

Have a good weekend, stay warm, and keep positive!
