Kim Howell you are right. They do actually receive bonuses. Even the investigators gets paid a bonus if he gets the family to sign a consent at first interaction. It goes from 600$ something down to 400$ depending whether it’s the first second or third interaction to try to get the family to sign. If the child is aged 1-8 it’s an additional 10$K a day per child the agency receives. There are additional financial incentives that were penned into law in 1997 by Clinton to give bonuses for adopting through foster care. Initially meant to help kids lingering in the system but has since been exploited. I believe it is about 6,000$K per child. Yes the foster parents and the case worker both receive this money. My case is 3+ years. Not accused of neglect or abuse. It’s for “risk of neglect” for “a possibility of an undiagnosed mental health disorder” for calling an employee of the local police dept a racial slur (covered under the 1st amendment right) we were traveling through Illinois. Not their jurisdiction. They put in the paperwork that we have no family, and they refuse to take our families phone calls because they are out of state. It’s disgusting. Just don’t give up. They take families through the ringer in hopes they give up after years of alienation and abuse. Just. Keep. Showing. Up. You will get them back
