588 until goal!

It’s been 1 month since we last checked in. Here are a few updates

  1. Indiana Civil Right’s Commission  (ICRC) has provided a response. “I regret to inform you that this is not a matter the ICRC would have jurisdiction over due to the Indiana Civil Rights Law statutory requirements. ICRC does not have jurisdiction over your situation.”
  2. Equal Justice Initiative(EJI) “Unfortunately, our current docket has completely overwhelmed us.”
  3. Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) “Unfortunately the Health Department is not able to investigate a complaint that occurred more than 12 months ago” (This statement is concerning for multiple reasons, but we will revisit later). It’s unacceptable.
  4. No other responses at this time.

***Given the nature of Sherri’s death, these responses are to be expected, but We are still hopeful that the State of Indiana will uphold their duties in the interest of the public and seek an investigation into her death as well as file the appropriate charges for all those involved in her abuse and death.

This coming week, those of you who have stressed interest in reaching out to the local media demanding Sherri’s story is covered, Feel free to do so. Media outlets will want to know why this is something that is news worthy, so you can share your opinion and demands with them.
Secondly, this coming week, we will make an attempt to reach IMPD even though our trust and faith in them has been broken thus far.  This effort will be in good faith, and we will be optimistic in their response.
Lastly, We will reach out to the DOJ to put them on notice that ultimately we may be seeking their assistance with Sherri’s death.
Please keep sharing the petition. We still need more supporters. Everyone counts. We appreciate the effort and support thus far and we’re pushing towards “POSITIVE” responses for the month of May.

As always We Thank you for the ongoing support. We will not lose focus on those patients currently experiencing similar treatment and of course those who have lost their lives prematurely without regard. “Human Rights” is not something we are willing to compromise. Her videos are devastating, gut wrenching and raw. Anything other then “Accountability”  is unacceptable.
