As a concerned citizen of the Philippines who cast my vote for him, I am deeply disturbed by the current situation of our Former President, Rodrigo R. Duterte. His detainment by the International Criminal Court (ICC) is a matter that I believe warrants urgent attention and swift action. Duterte served as our President from 2016 until 2022, during which time his stance on corruption, crime, and drug trafficking became synonymous with his leadership.

He initiated a strict anti-drug movement that, despite criticisms, was supported by many Filipinos. Duterte also exhibited strong political prowess within the international arena, seeking an independent foreign policy direction that garnered both attention and respect.

However, the proceedings in the ICC raise concerns about the careful calibration of political justice and individual rights. It's important to remember that Duterte, like every citizen, deserves fair treatment under the law.
