Dear #BodyEqualityInTravel Petition Supporters,

It's been four months since our last update, and during this time, the urgency of our fight has only grown. The discrimination and discomfort that plus-size travelers face are not just ongoing issues but are becoming increasingly visible and pressing. We must combat the misinformation being spread by certain media outlets and ensure that the real message of our movement is heard loud and clear.

Recent coverage has attempted to distort our advocacy by suggesting that plus-size travelers are demanding unfair privileges. This couldn't be further from the truth. Our petition calls for equitable treatment and basic human dignity for all passengers, regardless of size. We are advocating for comprehensive policies that ensure comfort, respect, and safety for plus-size individuals, as well as for individuals with disabilities and other needs.

Now, more than ever, we need to unite and amplify our voices. Let's not allow the spread of misinformation to overpower our mission.

Here’s what you can do:

1. Speak Up: Share your personal stories about traveling as a plus-size individual. Real-life experiences can powerfully highlight the need for change.
2. Share Content: Create and share videos that reflect our cause. Use your platforms to educate others and counteract the false narratives being spread.
3. Use the Hashtag: Utilize #BodyEqualityInTravel in all your relevant posts to create a unified and recognizable movement.

To remind you of our core message, our petition calls for the FAA to mandate a comprehensive customer-of-size policy across all airlines. This policy should include:

- Accessible Seating: Providing additional seats or larger seats to ensure comfort and safety for plus-size travelers.
- Refunds for Additional Seats: A straightforward refund process for plus-size travelers who need to purchase extra seats independently.
- Clear Communication: Transparent guidelines and procedures for accommodating customers of size.
- Airport Assistance: Priority boarding and other forms of support at the airport.
- Employee Training: Training airline and TSA staff on how to treat all passengers with respect and dignity, regardless of size.
- Accessible Lavatories: Ensuring new aircraft include at least one wheelchair-accessible lavatory.

Certain media outlets have misrepresented our goals and intentions. For example, a recent article suggested that we demand "regular travelers to subsidize free extra seats for plus-size fliers" and mocked our movement's calls for dignity and respect. This kind of coverage distorts our advocacy and detracts from the legitimate needs and rights we are fighting for.

Our campaign is not about seeking undue privileges but about ensuring fair and equal treatment for all. We are calling for systemic changes that would make air travel inclusive and accessible for everyBODY.

We need your help to keep the momentum going and to reach our goal. Share this update, talk to your friends and family about our cause, and encourage them to sign the petition. Together, we can push for the changes needed to create a more inclusive travel experience for all.

Thank you for your continued support. Let's make our voices heard and ensure that our message of body equality in travel reaches far and wide.

In Solidarity,
