Petition updateDemand for safety on Chalkers Lane

Another setback – we need your help again

Hi all,

So another potential huge set-back for us on Chalkers Lane, and as a village as a whole!

There are proposals for around 2,100 new homes in and around Hurstpierpoint, including 750 homes off of Chalkers Lane.

This is particularly concerning given the existing road-safety issues on Chalkers Lane, where as you know, we are already petitioning for improvements!

If these developments go ahead, the significant increase in traffic could make the existing problems even worse! There are also serious concerns about flooding, pressure on local roads and infrastructure, loss of countryside, and the impact on the character and views of our village.

If you share these concerns, please take a few minutes to make your voice heard and help protect Hurstpierpoint from inappropriate and excessive development.

How to object

Email: policyconsultation@midsussex.gov.uk

Please send separate emails for each proposal, e.g. MM74 and MM60, using the following subject lines:

Main Modifications Consultation - MM74

and

Main Modifications Consultation - MM60

Start each email with:

“I object”

Then explain, in your own words, the reasons for your objection e.g. concerns about road safety and additional traffic, flooding, local infrastructure, loss of countryside, or the impact on the character of Hurstpierpoint.

The deadline is Monday 7th September, so please send your objections before then.

Please share this with anyone locally who may also wish to have their say. Every objection helps ensure our concerns are heard.
