Demand Fair And Transparent Investigations Into The Deaths At Fort Hood, Texas

The Issue

In 2011, the New York and Asian American community demanded a fair and transparent investigation into the death of Pvt Danny Chen, a 19 year old soldier who was found dead in Afghanistan after weeks of unrelenting hazing and racial maltreatment by his superiors. Without the community’s voices, the horrors behind Danny’s death may never have come to light. Today in 2020, we face a similar situation with not one, but 28 soldiers dead at Fort Hood in this past year alone.

What we are asking for is simple: the investigated truth. Soldiers in the Army are dying unnaturally out of combat. Our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters volunteered to serve our country but their lives were cut short, under the supervision of the US Army. We believe that there needs to be accountability.

We support the families seeking a fair and transparent investigation into the deaths of their loved ones at Fort Hood. The investigations need to be thorough, detailed, and timely. All those responsible for the death of their loved ones must be held accountable. For the past 9 years, Danny’s family and community have told his story countless times so NO ONE would forget that, "no other soldier should experience what Danny did." We spoke loud and clear and we need to know the Army has been listening.

It has been 9 years since we asked the question, “what happened to Danny?” We now ask,

What happened to Spc. Vanessa Guillen?

What happened to Pvt Corlton Chee?

What happened to Specialist Miguel Yazzie?

What happened to Pvt Mejhor Morta?

What happened to Sgt. Elder Fernandes

What happened to Pvt. Gregory Scott Morales?

What happened to Staff Sergeant Miguel Angel Colon Vazquez?

What happened to the dead soldiers in Fort Hood?
