Thank you all for your incredible support so far. We've now gathered 350 verified electronic signatures and the petition has been viewed over 6,000 times with lots of signatures still to be verified (remind your friends they must confirm their email or it wont be counted!) a strong and growing message to Dorset and BCP councils: divest from companies complicit in Israel’s genocide in Gaza NOW!

Since we first called on councillors to divest on 15 May 2025, the situation in Gaza and across Palestine has only worsened:

Key Developments Since May 15:

• Aid agencies are still not permitted in. Less than 4 sites are operating under military control, less than 15% of the needed aid has been let in. Israeli activist Standing Together have received footage of Palestinians been shot at by the IDF. 25 were killed in one site.
• Activist from the freedom flotilla are being held in solitary confinement. 
• Dozens of homes in the West Bank have been destroyed using Caterpillar bulldozers. 
• UN agencies and international human rights groups have declared the situation a humanitarian catastrophe, with ongoing allegations of war crimes.
• The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has continued hearings into genocide allegations against Israel, with increasing global support for sanctions and divestment
• UK universities and councils across the country are facing mounting pressure to end ties with companies complicit in Israel’s occupation and military operations.
