Since October 11th, 2024, the Town of Beloit Fire Department has only staffed our fire station with a full crew of 3 firefighters about 20 times.

👉 The rest of the time, the engine has sat unstaffed, with only 2 personnel assigned to operate the ambulance.

What does this mean for you and your family?

• Delayed fire response – when a fire breaks out in South Beloit Mutual Aid has to come from City of Beloit, Rockton, or Harlem Roscoe if they aren't on other emergency calls.

• Strain on surrounding departments – these neighboring agencies are busier than ever, and must dedicate themselves to protecting their own communities first before they can cover others.

• Risk to residents and property – seconds matter in fire response. Without proper staffing, lives and homes are at greater risk.
