Public Meeting - Wednesday, May 29 @ 4:00 pm

The County Commissioners (our elected officials who have budget oversight of the college) will finally get a chance to hear publicly from Jon Connolly about why he has been hiding over $20m of taxpayer money. Money that was intended to be used for staffing the college and supporting our students. Why has Connolly been allowed to hoard these funds, allegedly filing false financial documents stating these funds were allocated for projects that had no chance of seeing the light of day? Why did Connolly ask for additional funding from the County taxpayers to pay for new software when he had more than enough funds to pay for upgrades? Why does the college not have a CFO and Connolly has been allowed to manage the finances without check and balances? Why has the board at the college not been informed and why were they forced to publicly share this information only after a whistleblower brought this to light? Why is Sussex Tech struggling to save their programs when Connolly is hoarding taxpayer money??

Where is the investigation?

This is a chance to seek answers. Public comment is an important aspect of accountability. We hope that the Commissioners will ask these tough questions and that Connolly will be required to provide factual answers.  This is also a chance for those seeking the Commissioners Office to stand up for taxpayers.
