Amazing 7-12 grades can open in 26 CA counties next week
It is amazing that additional 26 California counties will be moving to the red tier this week which allows 7-12 grade to return to in person school! TK-6 is already allowed to reopen in person in those same counties.
They will join 20 counties already in Red tier, 3 in Orange and 1 in Yellow. So a total of 50 out of 58 counties in california should be planning reopening of all grades! So why are not all public schools open in person? 95% of private schools in US are open and 65% of public schools in US.

Sadly the Majority of schools are remaining closed or only opening partially for elementary even though they can open at least hybrid for all grades starting next week. I love to see all the passionate parents rallying to open Schools in california!
Since all the covid metrics, especially new cases are down up to 99% for example in San Bernardino county, it's time to adjust the criteria to allow full time school for all! Its time for kids to receive the best education in person and socialize with their friends, like other states and countries have been doing for months!
According to SB county Public Health Director Corwin Porter: “We have seen a steady decline in all the key metrics, including hospitalizations, and that decline should persist as we continue vaccinating more and more residents every week,” he said.
In a statement, Porter reported San Bernardino county only saw 47 new cases on March 9, a figure 99% lower than the 5,421 positive cases seen on Jan. 4.
The 13 counties moving to the red tier Sunday are Amador, Colusa, Contra Costa, Los Angeles, Mendocino, Mono, Orange, Placer, San Bernardino, San Benito, Siskiyou, Sonoma and Tuolumne, CDPH said.
13 more are set to move to red on Tuesday: Kings, Lake, Monterey, Riverside, Sacramento, San Diego, San Joaquin, Santa Barbara, Sutter, Tehama, Tulare, Ventura and Yuba counties.
