Update: Justice for Nex
Hello everyone,
My name is Corey Snow, and I have the privilege and honor to be the person who started this petition. I can't tell you how much I appreciate each and every one of you who signed and shared this petition.
Right now we are closing in on 500 signatures- possibly by the time you get this email.
What's even more incredible is that so many of you have put your money on the line to promote the petition- as I write this, we have 28 promoters who have contributed over $300 to promote the petition- and that's incredible.
So, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.
When I read about Nex and what happened to them, I could not stop thinking about my own child. I have a non-binary child who is only a little older than Nex was. And I could only think that that could have been MY kid beaten in a bathroom and dying.
That horror and outrage was only amplified when, as you all have seen, it became clear that the investigation was not being conducted properly or in good faith. I saw many people demanding that the DOJ or the FBI step in and investigate this hate crime, and that's why I created this petition, so we could all unite our voices in that same demand:
An independent, unbiased and transparent investigation into this horrific crime.
We need to do this not just for Nex, but for every LGBTQ+ child. Too many are subjected to the same bullying, intimidation, threats and abuse that Nex faced.
There's a really good article on Rolling Stone about Nex, the investigation and the overall problem we face as a society with respect to how we treat LGBTQ+ children and students, that showcases many voices of people who have lived experience.

Second, please check back with the petition page and continue to raise awareness to your own social circles- we need every voice we can get behind us in our demand for real, independent and transparent justice for Nex, and every other child who faces the same things they did.
