The Phone Call With the Agency Representative The next day, the same person I had informed — who later represented the agency at the hearing — called me and asked me why we had to go to the State. I tried to explain the situation, but the conversation began to escalate. I told him that if we continued talking, we were not going to get to a good point. He agreed, and we ended the call. What Came Out During the Hearing During the June 24 hearing, it was revealed that there were two State Hearing requests: • The one I submitted because I did not receive a resolution within the required time. • And one submitted by the agency, on my behalf, without my knowledge. This discovery confirmed exactly what I have been saying for years: the system can take actions in your name without telling you, including enrolling you in benefits or requesting hearings you never asked for.
