Demand a Thorough Inquiry into the Death of Harry Nettlefold
The Issue
In 1998, my son, Harry Nettlefold was handed back to his mother, despite alarming evidence provided by Dr. Hamish Cameron, an expert in his field, of her potential danger to him. She had been diagnosed with a personality disorder and had a known history of child abuse and domestic violence. Furthermore, she was suffering from a brain tumour that could potentially impact her capability to parent responsibly and safely. Despite these alarming facts, no substantial steps were taken to ensure Harry's safety. Tragically, he died under suspicious circumstances on August 27, 2011. The possibility of his mother's involvement in his demise has not been conclusively ruled out.
The lack of action taken and disregard for this evidence sets a dangerous precedent for the treatment of vulnerable children. It suggests that authorities may overlook crucial signs of risk, resulting in potentially fatal consequences. We must demand a full inquiry to expose systematic failings, achieve justice for Harry, and ensure that such tragedies are not repeated.
The Prime Minister must address this tragic incident and ensure it leads to changes in child protection policies. We need transparency, justice, and preventive measures to protect other children from a similar fate.
For Harry's memory and for the safety of other children in similar circumstances, we must act now. We demand a full inquiry into why Harry was sent back to his mother's care despite significant evidence suggesting he was at risk. Let Harry’s untimely death bring about lasting change. Please, sign this petition and support our call for justice and transparency.
