Dear Petition Signers,

Thank you for signing the VISGO petition and staying engaged in our work on constitutional firearms reform in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I’m writing to share our updated 2026 General Election Candidate Survey results, with the Summary Report and Full Report links attached.  The Summary Report is currently listed with the Virgin Islands Daily News in the Local Guide section until the election:

https://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/eedition/supplements/page-z2/page_0efc15b8-f726-537a-ad26-720b645e0e4f.html

Among the new respondents is gubernatorial candidate Stacey Plaskett, who submitted a completed survey following our recent meeting. Her answers and VISGO’s assessment are now included in both reports.

Other new respondents include Senate candidates Derrick A. Callwood, Gregory P. Smith, Luz “Lucy” Browne, and Raymond T. James. We also received updated or revised submissions from Senator Carla Joseph, Paula A. Duke, and Jay Watson.

The updated report now includes 23 completed surveys among 53 candidate or ticket entries—a 43% completion rate. Participation among gubernatorial tickets reached 80%, with four of the five providing either completed surveys or substantive written positions. This includes Gustav James, who provided a narrative position statement.

The survey addresses candidates’ positions on the Constitution and Second Amendment, Senator Carla Joseph’s VISGO-endorsed constitutional corrective amendment, and the rights of law-abiding citizens concerning commonly available firearms, standard-capacity magazines, and federally lawful firearm devices.

The two reports provide different levels of detail :

Summary Report / Voter Guide: A concise overview of candidate answers and VISGO ratings, organized by election contest (https://visgo340.org/

Full Report: The detailed assessments, published rating methodology, candidates’ original responses, and supporting records (https://visgo340.org/

VISGO remains nonpartisan and applies the same published standards regardless of political affiliation. AI software assisted the analysis, and VISGO members reviewed and verified every final rating. We appreciate every candidate who put a substantive position in writing, including those whose answers differ from VISGO’s positions.

Please take a few minutes to review the reports and the candidates’ own words. We welcome specific factual corrections and will continue to consider new or revised responses.

Thank you again for your participation and continued interest.

Best,
