VISGO RELEASES 2026 CANDIDATE CONSTITUTIONAL ALIGNMENT GUIDE

Virgin Islands Safe Gun Owners (VISGO) has released its 2026 Candidate Survey and Constitutional Alignment Report to help voters make informed decisions before the August 1, 2026 Primary Election.

VISGO reviewed 67 candidate and ticket entries and received 25 completed three-question surveys/ substantive responses. Candidates were asked whether they:

1. Recognize that the Constitution and Second Amendment apply with full force in the Virgin Islands under the Supreme Court’s Bruen text-history-tradition standard;
2. Support Senator Carla Joseph’s Constitutional Corrective Amendment (A35-C.1) to Act No. 9113; and
3. Support objective constitutional protections for commonly owned firearms, standard-capacity magazines, and federally lawful devices.

The Report presents each candidate’s answers, relevant public voting record, VISGO’s disclosed methodology, and final opinion ratings. Eight candidates received an A+ constitutional-alignment rating.
