Right now Congress is funding a cruel roundup of 1000 Native Wild Horses in NE California. They are stampeding wild horses over the volcanic rock in the Modoc Forest and ripping bonded families apart in the pens. There is no evidence of overpopulation. Even the National Academy of Sciences said there was "no evidence of overpopulation" in their national wild horse and burro report. Land and riparian areas are ruined by poor livestock management and as usual, they try to scapegoat wild horses.

Here's what you can do:

Post it on your Facebook wall, Tweet it, email it to your list, send it to your 2 Senators and Congressperson asking them for a moratorium on the Devil's Garden roundup and politely ask for or an immediate independent headcount.

The overpopulation LIE is being used to push for sterilization, birth control, roundups and unlimited sales to probable slaughter. Who buys truckloads of wild horses for $1 a piece? Killer buyers do. This is a crime against our wild national treasures--indigenous horses--who belong on the land.

Know that population estimates are inflated to justify spending millions on cruel roundups of native wild horses and burros.

Right now an independent headcount is all that is needed to prove the roundup is a waste of money. Contact your elected officials and demand a moratorium and headcount today!

For the Wild Ones,
