We are having a townhall this Saturday at 9am in the City Council chambers at 100 W California Ave. Please try to attend, our voice is strongest when we stand together. There are so many issues with the Flock surveillance system that we had to make a list. I think the financial advantage lies with Flock. They are a tech startup funded by hundreds of millions of venture capital money led by Andreesson Horowitz (look for them in the Epstein files) with very clear instructions to grow, expand, corner the market and then go IPO so the VC’s can get paid. A nationwide surveillance network is more valuable when it really covers every person in the nation. Check out the emails linked on the website, their sales people are amazingly pushy while no one on the city side expresses any interest. Flock brags that their sales people have an over 90% success rate in signing cities and I just don’t think anyone in Ridgecrest cared enough to push back. Flock was quick to provide discounts and endless meetings if it got the city to sign right away. I think the whole situation started with a sales person actually driving to Ridgecrest and knocking on the PD’s door.Of course now the Chief will defend it with all his might but it was already here for a year before he got hired. I think these installations lose money for Flock in the short term as they work towards their major IPO.
