I just received an email from Lawrence Shovanec, Texas Tech University President. It reads: “I support your initiative to memorialize Billy with a plaque by the Raider Red Statue. It will be located near the Frazier Alumni Center. I’m copying some colleagues who would have input. Let me visit with them and we’ll get back to you. Lawrence” Thank you ALL for your support. I’m so happy we will be able to honor all of Billy’s work towards making this statue happen. My heart is full. Even though Billy can not be replaced, it means a lot to everyone that knew and loved him that we will be able to honor him permanently on campus. I will update you all as more details come forward.
