Every now and then you meet someone who wants to make a difference. Dr Teresa Towpik is one such person. Please sign and share her petition to encourage more doctors into this field. Currently thousands of genuine Australian patients are struggling on without the support of the medical system and reliant on the black market despite a desire to be under the health system. The Government regulations are a sham. A poor public policy which denies access to patients and gives them no alternative but to break the law. Some of the professional bodies give negative and misleading information in an attempt to continue the propaganda and bias around the benefits of cannabis. Harms are exaggerated and benefits are denied. It really is time to encourage informed policy and support for doctors who are keen to know more for the sake of their abandoned patients (who are using cannabis anyway). The involvement and interest of doctors is vital. GPs are entirely the right people to oversee patients who live with chronic conditions....not specialists who are often located in metropolitan areas with long waiting lists and little time or inclination to show an interest.
