Today, we made history.

MPs have voted in favour of Amendment NC1, a transformative step that decriminalises abortion in England and Wales. This means that for the first time since 1861, women will no longer be criminalised under archaic laws for ending a pregnancy.

And it's thanks to you.

You signed, you shared, you spoke up—and we made sure our voice was louder than those who are anti-choice. It worked.

This amendment now heads to the House of Lords, but the message is clear:
Abortion is officially recognised as a healthcare issue, not a criminal one.

What this means:

✅ No more police investigations into women who have abortions.
✅ No more prosecutions under the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 or the Infant Life (Preservation) Act 1929.
✅ No change to the 24-week time limit or the tight regulation already in place.
✅ Protection for the most vulnerable—women facing complex, traumatic situations will no longer be punished by the legal system.

This is a major victory for bodily autonomy, compassionate healthcare, and basic human rights. It removes the chilling fear of prosecution for women and ensures their medical decisions are treated with dignity—not suspicion.

At a time of political uncertainty, this win shows what we can achieve when we come together. It’s a powerful reminder that people power works.

We’re not done yet—Amendment NC1 still needs to pass through the House of Lords. But for today, we celebrate.

Thank you for being part of this historic change.
