Dear Friends,

We began this petition in order to demonstrate the value of traditions in society. Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and other minority sects celebrate Diwali as their new year and an occasion to celebrate the victory of good against evil.

As a country that is tolerant of all religions, and also most religious according to the religious index, I found it prudent to hand this petition to our Nairobi Woman Rep, Hon. Pasaris, who will endeavour to present this petition for debate in the National Assembly.

We are stating that tribe44 contributes to the countries GDP as major stakeholders.

As we gather to celebrate, we also pray and integrate.

We request that Diwali be gazzeted a public holiday.

Kwa niaba ya watu wote ambaye wame tu support, tunasema Asante.

Please join me yet again to circulate this petition so that we celebrate Diwali Via a gazzeted holiday.

A big thank you to all those who sent financial contributions to support this effort.

With warm regards,

Hon. Sonia Birdi Sunjeev
