The date of Chucky’s impoundment (both in the In Care Summary Inventory and on his individual record) was changed to February 28, 2017, a year later than the actual date of his impoundment. The obvious goal was to make to make it appear that he had been held for only a few months.
And his individual care notes include one new entry dated August 1, 2017:
“This dog is on Field Legal Hold for an indeterminate amount of time. It is a dangerous dog.”
Chucky was never charged with being “dangerous”. That is a specific charge imposed for causing significant permanent injury to a person. Chucky has never bitten anyone.
He was impounded on February 28, 2016.
I remember awhile ago saying to a senior officer that the dogs were not really dangerous; situations were. His response was that dogs had to be “dangerous” because that is how MCAS got money from the county, by playing the public safety card.
