The horrific school shooting of students in Parkland, FL on February 14, 2018, took over the legislative committees in order to push for stricter gun laws. In doing so, this movement caused Ponce's Law in its final committee meeting along with many, many other bills to be set aside, therefore killing those bills. Please be sure to read the article posted about the Parkland shootings so you know what happened and why we needed to be set aside for this session. Our hearts and prayers continue to go out to the families and victims of this tragedy. But we're not going to stop our push for harsher punishment for animal cruelty-Ponce's Law. We already have our State Representative Tom Leek as our house sponsor once again in place and will be working on retaining all our current sponsors to finish the job we started which is Ponce's Law.
