I started a petition in April on change.org #mentalhealthshortage throughout all 50-states. What we are asking from the governors is to sign an EXECUTIVE ORDER throughout all 50 states for social workers and other mental health professionals to be grandfathered in.  Meaning we are asking to be licensed in without testing requirements. We are asking for permission and acknowledgment for jurisdiction transfer. So, that we are able to relocate to a state that is most impacted.

Why is it difficult for Social Workers and other mental health professionals to collaborate? 

For now, I am going to tell a story one of faith. The reality of it is that people are too consumed by their daily lives to be concerned with added pressures or responsibilities. I get it. Or some people do not want to expose themselves. Some may be battling their own demons. Some people are being fed by their egos, therefore, blinded by their own delusions. Some are simply selfish and rather watch and then receive. And some are too submerged in their securities and comforts to be bothered at all. Some are protecting a career that doesn’t even pay them their worth or know their value. This is about valuing ourselves and not accepting what little is given for the job that humanity is asking for us to do. Which is to SAVE LIVES!!! For everyday that I don’t work. I consistently post and write about messages of hope and love. Giving daily tips to help people manage anxiety or depression. I practice keeping my body, mind and spirit clear to receive the words of God to flow through me and I share my knowledge because it’s not mind to keep. Our differences of spirituality or religions may be conflicting with people's decisions, guess what religion doesn’t help you see god it helps us learn the foundation of God. God is in our heart and the only way to see him is to break away from what you feel is your comfort zone and to release the things that do not serve him so he can work through you. My spirituality does not negate God it embraces Gods light That radiates through me you would only notice it if you were in my aura. When I meditate I meditate on God, Buddhism follows that practice. I say this to say never mind the delivery focus on the message. I am not special, I am unique, just as you are, we all have the ability to receive downloads and messages from the most high. 

For the one who is idling by waiting for the petition to pass and did not do anything to contribute is living in a self-righteous state of consciousness which is impeding the development of the collaborative efforts. Which means you are delaying  your own potential and gifts.  We all must know and understand that we all play a role. Although, we may not be a leader in the public arena; or in our careers, we are leaders to the ones who are closely observing or in need of your services.you are a leader! We do deserve better and more than what is given. These organizations and governments do not value people only profit. Where is your profit? When we are struggling to make ends meet. 

Every day someone without those same comforts or choices; are drowning (mental health), dying (suicide), and numbing their core so, they can escape from this fallacy of a world dipped in lies and disbelief and misconceptions. (substance/addiction).Do I need to say it mental health, suicide, and substance abuse rates has increased. And now women’s rights will be under question. We are the only resource to help restore hope, faith, and love. 

A friend told me a couple of nights ago to tell my story and to be myself because people only buy the experiences of you. 

So, I will share. Talk about transparency and vulnerability as I’ve been doing for months. Hopefully, this will help you make a decision of why social work is important and why the # mentalhealthshortage should be an important # to you?  

When I was battling with depression, homelessness, financial hardship and domestic violence while attending Fordham university in 2010. Someone told me to put on my armor and ask God, the angels, and spirits to help guide me out of the darkest. I have not taken it off ever since. 

What I am asking everyone to do is to step out of their comfort zone because we have a war to fight. Most of us do not know that we are God's warriors, God chose us to be superheroes for the weak, the poor and suffering. We are not Social Workers or mental health professionals by accident, the same unfortunate events that happened to our patients, already happened to us and if it didn’t you were fortunate. The only difference is that we’re strong enough to persevere and become educated on how to cope and to do God's work, to be of service to Humanity. Our education, our role or titles do not exempt us from experiencing the same hardships externally or internally. 

We all have karmic lessons to beat the puzzle of life. If I had more time to share with you, you’ll understand my passion and reason why I fell in love with social work but here goes a brief story one of hope, faith and perseverance. 

Just before leaving my previous position, patience would tell me their story and now I am the story. Sometimes things happen to us for us and to help others grow.  

Here we are in 2020, I am struggling, I have waited for unemployment since July, I waited for food stamps and a cash assistance card since august, I am at risk of being evicted. My car was in an accident. My heart was broken by a woman I had a soul tie connection too. She recently released me, I have never felt so free; her stagnation and unwillingness to release me was selfish. As most people are when they lose someone they knew was worth keeping. However, she sees and knows now all the things I have manifested for us I’ve done alone. Her delay became my strength,my motivation, ambition and it  helped me find me. I put myself in this situation because the job that I loved did not respect me or love me enough to hire more people who looked like me; lgbt, black and non-bilingual. The choices they made were done indirectly or it could have been intentional who knows. I don’t care about intentions, I cared more about why I was accepting of it in the first place?  I looked at who it was hurting, not me but, the population that I served, so that's when it became relevant. I will never again allow someone to make me feel inadequate, or not worthy or disempowered ever again. If I am not good enough why is my community good enough to serve or prosper off of? I took the test  in June, I failed for the 6 time, I said fuck them too, yes the spirits curse sometimes deal with it. By July I decided to quit my job, by August I decided to take my last bit of money and purchase a Llc to open my own spiritual base practice as my experience of being a social work and my life has prepared me enough to step out on my own. If they can’t treat me as their equal, they don't deserve to purchase my talents at a small fee because I know my worth. Here’s what my character is worth! You be the judge. 

So, if I decide to work back in the matrix, they will know that I will provide a service to all people, even to myself. They will know that I will be ready to fight or challenge social injustices. They will know that I respect others and that I walk with dignity and I always acknowledge the worth of all people, despite adversities or differences  because I know no strangers,  all I know and see are human beings living their human experience. They will know that I build bridges to connect people and that I reunite and restore broken pieces, I am not just a teacher of life I am also a student of life and a leader of life. They will know that I value the importance of HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS. They will know that I help others and I walk with kindness, compassion, and integrity.  They will know that I have the knowledge to solve problems effectively. They will know that I am non-judgemental. They will know that I think before I speak and what I speak will be the truth. They will know that I will seek knowledge and understanding. They will know that I turn knowledge and understanding into wisdom. I fell in LOVE WITH SOCIAL WORK. Before becoming a social worker I didn’t believe in therapy because I had a bad experience with 1social work and 1 psychiatrist until I became one and I learned how to master the art of social work and self-discovery.  What I reiterated to you was the social work code of ethics? I can easily go and get another job, but God has chosen me for this assignment which is to wake up the spirits of humanity, the sun children to generate, collaborate, transform, the darkest into light. I can’t do it on my own healers, lightworkers and empaths. Wake up!! If you feel hopelessness, tired down or confused that is god tapping on your soul to get up. 

We can’t afford to make excuses, all that I lost I keep getting up. I know I am not alone on this path towards transformation into the unknown. I have my ancestors, angel and spirit guides who are around me and GOD SEES ME AND HEAR ME. I embraced the alone time, the solitude is my time to listen, pray, and feel the experiences because I’ve noticed that without money I am the happiest. I have done this breakthrough with a clear mind free from the darkest, pain, depression or anxiety. I have never done this in a healthier body and a spirit that is my heart that I love so much. However, it does not mean I am afraid of the steps because I can’t afford to be. I believe I am being directed by god and I am just a vessel and co-creator of this story I’ve been sharing with you all for months. So, NOW I AM ASKING FOR HELP? 

I am asking for you to No longer be a witness of my transformation. I am asking that you be AN ACTIVE Participant. If you have any doubts according to the

“Social workers are sensitive to cultural and ethnic diversity and strive to end discrimination, oppression, poverty, and other forms of social injustice. These activities may be in the form of direct practice, community organizing, supervision, consultation, administration, advocacy, social and political action, policy development and implementation, education, and research and evaluation. Social workers seek to enhance the capacity of people to address their own needs. Social workers also seek to promote the responsiveness of organizations, communities, and other social institutions. That also includes the government. 

Our duty and primary task are to help the weak, less fortunate and to help their voices be heard. We are our patients' only defense. Who comes to our defense? 

The faith that the Most high have in me is far more powerful than the flesh. Because every time I want to give up he hits me with either a struggle or a message of strength. So, here we are. 

It took George Floyd and many others to lose their life for you, me and the world to regain or even want to fight for our freedom. Someone told me Tanya you are healing and freeing yourself to help others to become freed. Everything happens in divine timing. God put us in positions and in roles for a reason, not to stay stuck or complacent. Ask yourself right now  Are you happy with where you are in life? If your answer is no. Let’s start right not to make changes. Make social work something you love to do and stop making people see us as valuable vs invaluable. 

Lastly, people and systems have failed us in the past but, this is the time to create the change we want to see in life. It is time to put new leaders in the seat who will make conscious, logical, practical, analytical, decisions that will not be persuaded by someone else’s truth. No one or nothing should ever stop you from doing what you believe is just. GET UPSTUCK people it is time to ELEVATE Your Spiritual Vibrations and ignite the highest frequencies of all LOVE. We may never get another chance to rewrite history and or to directly make an impact of this latitude ever again. 

Remember if you believe in a higher power know that you are fully protected because your adversities allow you to be in the position to help others. Not only that the sword of hate has no bearing on the chosen who protects God’s children will always be fully protected. So, all that we fear is not serving anyone but, the wrong master. For all who are hating will be returned to sender because the God that I know and believe in will not hurt his messenger that is me and you. I fear no man but, one and that is the IAM that dwells within me therefore, I am, who I am and that I am fully protected. 

Allow LOVE to dissolve all fears, haters, and all the non-believers who are not in support of this petition. Therefore, do not be afraid to put on your “Psychological and spiritual armor on,” and speak affirmation of the truth, (Theodore Ver-he-ven, p.200). 

As this is too a social injustice to the Mental health Profession, to have to take a test in two pandemics COVID19 and racism, while adapting to working from home and home schooling. This is insensitive and a miscarriage of justice and to our civil liberties. The National Association of Social Workers and all other government entities need to be ashamed of themselves for not considering aiding and relieving us of having to take a test in the middle of saving humanity.

As a result, we are already left to walk blindly into the unknown without the proper resources and without proper leadership to direct and guide us.  We are all tired and weary and we are all now needing faith and hope to be restored in this time of uncertainty. God, is funny he, “said leap because what you think you have now will be greater, later.” Let that sink in. 

I am a logical thinker as well as a practical thinker. So, what do you have to lose IF WE have already lost? I am not saying to quit your job and suffer. I am asking that you just take the timeout to go to the governers./gov website and send an email. I am also asking that we take our power back and send a message to the people who are in power that we are here.SEE US! HEAR US! They will need us first and always. So, please try to just report the # to bring awareness.

The reason why we need the EXECUTIVE ORDER is because African American licensed social workers comprise 2% and 70% are predominantly white women and 10% others. Which ethnicity and communities do you think will be MOSTLY IMPACTED? THE BLACK AND BROWN COMMUNITIES ARE AT HIGH RISK YOUR community is at risk. A greater risk than ever before. Mental health services are increasing and there is a shortage!!!!
