The university of Ottawa is planning on a closure of all arts buildings for the duration of the Christmas break, and this will include Perez, the music building. Such a closure will prevent students of certain disciplines from practicing for up to 2 weeks straight; an unacceptable amount of time given our near complete reliance on this space for practice studios and access to instruments. We hope that by creating this petition, we can bring this issue to the attention of the university and reach a compromise which accommodates our needs as growing musicians and paying students of this university.
