Recently, an open letter was posted in support of Amber Heard, spearheaded by a couple of her most dedicated supporters and signed by 130 people and organizations. If I understand it correctly, the letter speaks to the over-use of defamation lawsuits as a means by which an abuser can further victimize their victim, which is rubbish, of course, because Heard was proven in court to have lied with malice when she claimed that Johnny Depp abused her.

Now, there's an open letter in support of Johnny Depp, being signed far and wide.

It took Heard's supporters months to put together their open letter and approach 130 people to sign it. 

The open letter to Johnny Depp has been signed by nearly  1,400 supporters in less than a day.

And this petition alone has been signed by almost 5 million. So that little 130 signatures on Heard's open letter isn't quite the flex they think it is. It's getting Heard some press and an ego-stroke, but it means precisely nothing.
