With a release date of Dec 16th 2022, I think it's safe to assume that filming should start sometime soon. Especially considering the amount of time the movie will need in post to make it look like all those people are underwater. 

So, will Amber be among the cast? Some sources say that WB bought out Amber's contract so that she got paid but won't be in it. (which I believe.) Others say that she's set to reprise her role as Mera. 

There's another thing to consider. Filming will take place in Australia. And if Barnaby Joyce has his way, there might be perjury charges over Pistol and Boo waiting for her there if she returns. 

And there's no statute of limitations in Australia for crimes that involve grievous bodily injury, so she can still face charges over what happened to Johnny's finger. 

Which means that even if Amber's still in Aquaman 2, she runs some serious risks if she shows up to film it.
