Mélanie Inglessis, Amber Heard’s former makeup artist is trying to quash the judge’s order for her to testify remotely during Johnny Depp’s libel case against the Sun magazine for labeling him a wife beater on its cover.
Inglessis said in a 2019 declaration that she saw bruises on Amber Heard’s face and covered them up with makeup for an appearance on the Late Show with James Cordon. The day before that, Heard had claimed the Depp gave her a black eye.
In the same declaration, she said that Amber told her “many times” that Depp had abused his then wife. Now, Inglessis doesn’t want to testify to that fact. In fact, she doesn’t want to testify at all.
On May 16, Inglessis filed a motion in California federal court asking Magistrate Judge Patrick J. Walsh to quash his order compelling her give live testimony via a video feed. She also informed the court that she's received "death threats and faced online harassment.” Inglessis also says her career as a celebrity makeup artist will suffer if she's forced to testify.
A hearing is set for June 10 to decide the matter.
It’s no wonder that Inglessis doesn’t want to testify, given that so many other people have testified that at the same time, they saw Heard without any bruises or marks on her face at all. Let’s not forget that Heard’s stylist, Samantha McMillen, styled Amber Heard for that same James Cordon show and swore that there wasn’t a mark on her. Not one.
There’s the picture from the show. What do you think?
