The internet is losing it's mind because WB DC officially announced a release date for AM2. They're outraged that WB and DC are completely ignoring the fact that Amber Heard has been PROVEN to be a serial abuser, and ignoring the petitions signed by hundreds of thousands of paying fans to remove Amber Heard from AM2. How dare they confirm her for a return to the role of Mera.

But did they?

Everything I've read, including those statements confirming the official dates for the movie's release. And ALL  of them use language like "The cast is EXPECTED to return." or "Amber heard is SET to return."

Expected. Set. Prepared. Ready.

Nowhere does it say that Amber Heard is CONFIRMED to return.

I'm sure she wants to. She's certainly going to need the money to pay of Johnny Depp when he wins his 50 million dollar defamation suit against her. And she seems the type to NEED the fame that comes with stardom.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. There are two law suits standing between Amber Heard and that role. Johnny's libel suit against the sun and his defamation case against Heard herself. If she's found in the wrong in either one of them, then she's got a lot to lose.

There's a morals clause in every contract in Hollywood these days. And if Heard loses in either one of those cases, the studio can, and probably will, fire her due to that morals clause.

Let's not forget that the filming and release date for AM2 was pushed back when these suits were filed, probably for exactly that reason.

WB DC aren't ignoring us. They're covering their collective asses. If they fire her just because of a petition, they open themselves up for a HUGE wrongful termination suit from Heard.

By waiting for the outcome of these cases, WB DC are giving themselves a valid reason to fire her. If she's fired for a morals clause violation, she can't sue them for wrongful termination.

Stay calm, folks. It's not over until it's over. Filming hasn't even started. Let's wait and see what happens with these law suits before we throw our outrage around. We know she's going to lose. THEN we can turn our watchful eye to the studio to see what they're going to do about it.
