In light of the recent sexual assault allegations against Omar Afra (CEO of Day for Night and Owner of Free Press Houston), we the undersigned ask that you divest from him and remove his power to continue to abuse people within the community. These allegations against Omar Afra include inappropriate and forced touching without consent. We as a community must hold ourselves and our representatives to a standard of decency and basic rights in the treatment of any and all persons. In this case, we stand with the victims of Omar Afra and the silence breakers of the #metoo movement.

By removing Omar Afra from his position as CEO of Day for Night, and ceasing all collaborations and/or working partnerships with Free Press Houston, we can begin to repair the damage done by this individual and help to restore the Houston music community to a place of safety. By doing this, we acknowledge that we can move forward with a commitment to providing environments that foster safe and positive experiences without fear.
