The former Wetlands Acquisition funds have now been earmarked by council for restoration of the 11 publicly owned Wetlands in Davistown, Malinya Rd, and Henderson Rd in Saratoga. Council voted unanimously to do this.
The DPA Wetlands Sub Committee urged council to use the former funds to weed out exotic species, repair the wetlands to improve wetlands flushing and clean up nearby stormwater drainage on an annual basis, with annual funding allocations, with a brief action plan.
A photo file, with evidence of the damage and street addresses has been submitted to Central Coast Councils Coast and Estuaries and Natural Assets Management Team.

Once repaired, and when native plants and animals return, council may then apply for grant funds to install a small wooden boardwalk so small groups could be educated on the value of Wetlands; as a fish nursery and a healthy ecosystem support for both flora and fauna.
Do you know how much Carbon Dioxide is removed from the atmosphere by Wetlands such as Davistown’s?
