I just received the following email. The province is no longer considering selling portions of Rondeau Provincial Park to private property investors. Thank you for your support on this public issue. Our parks are a last refuge for the once great ecosystems of the Great Lakes Basin. Please stay vigilant Ken Bell ______________________________________ Thank you for your email to Premier Ford regarding Rondeau Provincial Park. I am pleased to respond to your email. The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks is not currently pursuing a proposal from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and the Rondeau Cottage Association where the municipality would purchase leased cottage lots in Rondeau Provincial Park at fair value, and resell the lots to current cottage leaseholders. The ministry is considering options regarding the continued leasing of private cottage lots in Rondeau Provincial Park. No decisions regarding the future of Rondeau cottage lots beyond 2022 have been made at this time. The ministry will consult Indigenous communities, stakeholders and members of the public on any future proposals. Thank you again for writing. Sincerely, Jason Travers Director, Ontario Parks Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks
