We have received the below response from David Lloyd CEO Glenn Earlam with reference to Les Mills classes and David Lloyds intentions with reference to Group Exercise:

"it would be good for me to summarise our position.

It is our intention to continue to invest into group exercise classes, with ongoing investment into our own branded classes, although considering the reduced capacity restrictions at present, it is to also our priority to provide additional classes as well.

We are launching two new classes next month, a holistic and a high energy class.  As discussed, ideally we would have preferred to have launched these classes last month when our Clubs reopened, but with the uncertain speculation around when gyms were going to be allowed to reopen, this delay was unavoidable in these unprecedented times.

In response to member feedback leaning towards favouring outdoor exercise since the pandemic, we have recently confirmed the rollout of Battlebox, our own outdoor-based fitness zone, which combines full body fitness training, high energy challenges and teamwork, into 24 more Clubs.  This is in addition to the 39 Clubs that already run these classes.  We have also continued with the rollout of our own cycling branded classes Rhythm, which is designed to be an immersive workout for body and mind, and Cyclone, which uses Stages bikes to help our members become stronger, fitter and faster, whilst watching their stats on the screen in front of them so they can really push themselves.

We are pleased with the take up of our own branded classes and I am confident that these 2 new classes launching next month will also be a success. I do hope you and your fellow members will try and hopefully enjoy these new classes.

Kind regards

Glenn Earlam"
