Today the Supreme Court in Pakistan suspended Asia Bibi's execution. The Court has ordered to temporarily suspend Asia Bibi's sentence until there is a full court hearing. Asia has been on death row for almost five years and so today's verdict could mark a significant turning point for Asia and her lawyers. Though no date has been set for the appeal and the suspension of the death penalty remains temporary the willingness of the Supreme Court to hear Asia's case and suspend the sentence can give us some hope for Asia’s future.
