Reinstate Manchester City Council's grant to a vital Somali charity

Reinstate Manchester City Council's grant to a vital Somali charity

The Issue

The City Council is withdrawing vital funding from SASCA, a Somali charity based in south Manchester which acts as a hub for the wider local community.

SASCA (Somali Adult Social Care Agency) carries out amazing work in the community helping people with advice on jobs, benefits, training, housing and a host of other issues.

To date its running costs have been met by the council but Sasca has been told that from April it will be receiving no more money in the form of grants.

This decision could force Sasca to close and undo all the success it has achieved in the past five years or so.
