Petition was shown on WAAY-31

Our petition has made it onto the local news station in Huntsville.  Reading the article and watching the news clip I believe there is a slight misconception about the petition among some of the students.  The petition is a petition on the price of parking and not the quality of parking on campus.  Though the quality does not equal the price we are charged, we are not looking to change the zoned parking system.  UAH does have a lack of parking spaces but that itself is not an overnight fix and is something the school is working on.  Also, we can not compare the price of other schools parking permits because they too are being overcharged, in lots of cases, more than we are.  But, because they are being overcharged more than we are does not mean we aren't being over charged as well.  $140 to park on campus is a lot, and I feel for the other schools' students who pay even more than that.  College parking permit cost is a problem across the entire higher education system.  Students everywhere should not be paying outrageous prices to park their car on campuses that they pay thousands in tuition and fees to attend.  Yet, this petition only affects our school, in hopes to solve this problem on our campus.
