Many Pilots, maintenance staff and others that work on regional airports are disappointed with the management of the ASIC system. It appears expensive and inappropriate as a security measure. 

We are not claiming there is no need for security, but rather that the ASIC only affects law abiding people in their day to day activities and serves no purpose at regional airports. This is particularly the case where the RPT apron is separated from the GA area.
