Mise à jour sur la pétitionDaniel Andrews: our autistic son turned 21 last week shackled to a hospital bed – don't let him suffer from neglect any longerSHACKLED AGAIN!
Bronwyn PascoeAustralie
5 févr. 2015 — https://www.facebook.com/pages/Disability-Rights-Australia/636152439816547 We thought our job was over-protecting our son from the degrading treatment of being shackled to a hospital bed. Your support for our family resulted in the Department of Human Services agreeing to support James with expertise and care. Unfortunately this promise was short lived. As parents, we are so alienated by James’ house staff we have had to make the decision not to visit him. We are heartbroken. The expert agreed to, has not been paid in six weeks, and must withdraw. A special program to allow James to recover from weeks of being shackled to a hospital bed, and previous trauma, has never eventuated. James was taken to hospital because he was so distressed, he was hitting his own head to the point of an ambulance being called. He went into emergency department at the hospital on Thursday 29th January 2015. We have asked Brendan Fogarty DHS Northern Region to let us manage the funds and hire our own staff – pay the expert and get James the help he needs. Mr Fogarty will not change the status quo. Help us protect our son from further inhumane treatment. PLEASE write to the Minister, Mr Martin Foley, and request James’ funding is self managed so we can try and break this terrible pattern. martin.foley@parliament.vic.gov.au. Thanking you Bronwyn Pascoe
