Austin is America's largest no kill city for homeless dogs and cats. They achieved this feat via simple implementation of a no kill plan from city council and the animal advisory board. Austin provides more funding for shelters, spaying/neutering, and the general health of displaced dogs and cats which has lead to more than 90% of animals leaving city shelters alive and with a new home or foster. I believe more cities should adopt plans like Austin's and work towards reducing euthanasia rates.
