Since my last post update here on the petition page 5 months ago, two things have been confirmed. 1. That the planning stage for the construction of the new vessel is underway and 2. That Tom Crean's name will be under consideration for the title of the Irish Navy's new flagship.
Beyond that there's nothing much to report as we continue the long wait. During our term in isolation I used some of the time we had to co-produce an audio version of the book.
For those who'd like to acquaint themselves as to why Tom Crean deserves the recognition we seek for him, the audiobook, narrated by Aoife Burke, covers his incredible life and career in over 6 hours of recording. The audiobook, the cover of which is shown here, is a transcription of the third edition of the print version and is available via Audible at https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/Crean-Audiobook/B08J8DR91L
At the time of me writing this, I have 25 promotional codes that allow a free download of the audiobook and if any of our petition supporters would like to avail themselves of one, please message me at info@tomcreanbook.com with your name and email address and I'll send you a code. I'd really appreciate, for those who do wish to download and listen to the book, if you were to leave an honest review of it on Audible.
Thank you for reading this update and please keep spreading the word about our petition - it may be a long wait but I'm still confident that one day we will be celebrating a victory - #SignForTom
