Rescues in the State of Ohio must be transparent, 501(c) 3, and registered with the Ohio Dept of Agriculture.  Underdog Rescue, formally known as the following; Cleveland Rescue and Rehabilitation; Cleveland Area No Kill; and now Underdog No Kill Rescue and Training Center, have taken up residence in Cuyahoga Co on Lennox Ave.  The "rescue" started in Novelty Ohio where it was raided by Geauga County Rescue Village in August where 15 dogs were living in deplorable condition. The dogs were confiscated and taken to Rescue Village to be evaluated. Dan Makara, owner and operator of said rescues voluntarily signed all the dogs over to Rescue Village, was evicted off the property, and has now set up shop in Cuyahoga Co.  There are questions about missing funds, what said funds were used for, and a real concern for any living creature put in any "rescue"  with Dan Makara, and now partner Raven Cooke.  Our humane community must protect animals NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE KEPT.  We even have to protect them from those who use rescue as a way to raise funds for injured animals, but do not use the funds to treat the animals.  Be a voice, please sign the petition to bring awareness and justice.
