The interview of the guy who assulted me has now happened but instead of my assailant being arrested and bailed, he turns up two days later as if nothing has happened and it all starts over again.
My father/carer wrote to the officer in the case as follows:
"Whatever happened in your interview with him, J*** C****** obviously believes he has got off Scot free.
Today he came for about half an hour, but in that time patrolled our fence, made rude gestures at our camera, tried to block me on the pavement (leaving his toddler son alone on the other pavement), then spent time walking up and down outside our house singing the ‘I’ll never give you up’ refrain.
None of that was necessary, all of it designed to cause fear and distress. It reduced Michael to such a state he had to take Diazepam.
Please add this to the file and let us know as a matter of urgency why you have not imposed any restraints on his behaviour."
The officer's reply was just to confirm that the interview had happened and they were considering what to do next!
This email reply actually gave my father a noseblood!
On the video it can also be seen that as the guy reluctantly moves away from the pavement where he is trying to block my father and force a confrontation he shouts out loudly 'What a glorious day' further suggesting he believes he has been told he is free to continue his harassment without penalty.
This is getting desperate. If an officer with an allegation of physical assault, and video evidence to confirm it, cannot move immediately to an arrest under PACE 37.7 then it is clear the Metropolitan Police is not fit for purpose.
