Allow OCEARCH to tag Great White Sharks in Australia

Allow OCEARCH to tag Great White Sharks in Australia
The issue
With the ever increasing number of Great White Sharks in Australia and our beaches becoming more and more unsafe do you think it's time that something be done?
Well there could be an answer. OCEARCH is a non-profit organisation with a global reach for unprecedented research on great white sharks. There tagging program allows anyone with access to a computer or mobile device, the ability to track tagged sharks. They also regularly post to social media, updates and warnings of any tagged sharks that are in the vicinity of popular beaches.
What makes us angry is that OCEARCH have offered to tag GWS in Australia again and again only to be let down by the federal Government, denying them accesses to GWS, saying OCEARCH’S stated methods for capturing and handling white sharks are not consistent with established CSIRO protocols for handling the species, and they are not sure whether OCEARCH’S techniques would be permitted under CSIRO’s current research or Animal Care and Ethics approvals.
In our opinion this is the perfect solution to this ever growing problem. Not sure if this will make a difference but it is worth a shot. Please sign and share this petition. And maybe we can, with the help of OCEARCH, do something to prevent more attacks.
