My son’s summer visitation with his father bumps right up to August 1, when he’s supposed to live with his dad. On Monday may 23, I told my son he has to live with his father and it will actually begin June 20th because of summer visitation.
My child is distraught as am I. I feel useless under the laws to protect my child and as a mother, that’s what I want to do! My child ran off from school on may 24th because of all the stress and trauma he’s under. We searched for 3 hours and found him at a park just hanging out. He’s not handling his emotions well so after talking with him, we both agreed it’s best to get him into a crisis residential place for a few days (not a hospital) that will allow him to go through his emotions and provide him with coping skills he can take with him to live with his father.
His father called the place we admitted him to, saying he doesn’t want our to go there. Of course our son still went and is still there at this moment.
This father shouldn’t even be labeled as a father. How much else can he put our son through? It’s obvious he doesn’t care about our sons well-being. His father also told our son if he’d just get good grades we wouldn’t be in this predicament
I’m still pushing on and fighting for my son. I hate that he can’t be protected by me or the law because no one wants to address the issues in Texas. Please continue to support and share this. I’m not done until my son is safe and with me again.
