"Lapdog" Sold on The Hill

Dear Allies of Reform,
As we surpass 2,700 signatures on our petition drive, we'd like to update you on the Walk the Talk Foundation's efforts to introduce important DoDIG reform legislation.
The past two months have been busy ones, especially for the Foundation's Chief Operating Officer, Francesca Graham (pictured above with Senator Markwayne Mullin's defense staffer). We've been engaging heavily in the halls of Congress, especially at the Senate Armed Services Committee and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, to push our objectives outlined in the report on the failure of the DoDIG system, entitled "Independent Watchdog turned Institution's Lapdog," which you can download here.
The reception on The Hill has been extremely positive. Many staffs familiar with the Department of Defense recognize the need for independent avenues by which individuals can be afforded due process and justice - they see the farce which is the DoDIG system and they are no longer duped by its alleged integrity and independence. To quote one defense staffer "The Members (of Congress) are not naive to the DoD's 'tactics' any more."
Over the next coming months, we aim to commission a study on how best the DoDIG can be dissolved, as well as proposals to reform it now in order to better assure timely and fair investigations can be carried out in the near term.
