We are delighted to share a major milestone in our shared vision for a vibrant public park on the former Saigon Market site.

Thanks to your incredible support—over 715 signatures on the petition—and the powerful voices of our community, Maribyrnong City Councillors voted unanimously at last night’s meeting to progress this proposal.

What happens next?
The following key steps will now be undertaken:

• Council officers will conduct detailed feasibility assessments
  The site will need to be identified as strategically important for open space
• Council will pursue opportunities to secure and fund the acquisition, including seeking support from the Victorian and Federal Governments
• This is a significant and inspiring moment for our community, and a clear demonstration of what we can achieve together. But there is more to do—and we will continue to need your voices and your support.
