After a lovely Saturday morning ride over to Gosbecks Archaeological Park to exercise the horses, we headed home back into Layer de la Haye. Whilst riding down the notoriously tricky Birch Road, we met our favourite friendly cyclist (if you are reading this, you know who you are!) and a group of army cadets out orienteering, you can't easily see them, but they are up in front of the cyclist on the right-hand side of the road.
We were all using and sharing the Birch Road. To the left of the image, you can see where the new pathway will hopefully be installed, safely out of the way of the traffic.
This will make connecting the walking, cycling and riding routes much safer and more accessible.
This photo highlights why a multiuser route is so important, rather than just pedestrians and how we are already happily working together.
Site meeting planned for April/May.
With 11,000 new homes set to be built in Colchester, maintaining our off road network and access to nature is more important than ever before.
Best wishes,
Lucy
